Lincolnshire grower Tim Lamyman has smashed the World Record OSR yield with variety Picto. A yield of 6.7tonnes/ha was harvested on the 5th of August up at Worlaby near Louth. Beautiful film. The only world record yield which is not out of reach (yet) seems to be rape seed. I am from Serbia and in 2015 I had over 4.9 tonnes/ha but I harvested way too early and lost about a ton/ha. I would have been close to 6 tonnes/ha on that field (2.87 ha) and it was only the second time I drilled OSR, hence my big mistake with the harvesting date. The variety was DeKalb - ExStorm. Congratulations Tim, great job.
my field average is 6.5 ton/hectare......tried all scientific approach ....from plant stand to NPK need fungicide Seed rate .....help me to increase my yield
If you use Wheat made for high yield (engineered), have the perfect weather and use several thousand of kg of fertilizers you can reach more than 10 ton/hectare. What those guys did was they spared no cost to achieve so high yield but I would not encourage more use of fertilizers and if caught in some places you can be sentenced to prison as it affect the water supply and soil fertility.
